Move Out Tips
Follow these steps for a smooth move-out and maximum deposit return
We want your move-out to go smoothly. Following this checklist will help ensure you receive your full security deposit back.
Cleaning
- Clean all appliances inside and out (oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave)
- Clean all cabinets, drawers, and shelves inside and out
- Clean all bathrooms thoroughly including grout, fixtures, and mirrors
- Vacuum and mop all floors
- Clean all windows inside and out
- Remove all personal belongings and trash
Repairs
- Replace any broken/burned out light bulbs
- Ensure all doors and windows open and close properly
- Report any damage that occurred during your tenancy
- Replace any missing or broken fixtures
Utilities & Keys
- Schedule utility transfers for your move-out date
- Return all keys, garage openers, and access cards
- Provide your forwarding address for any possible security deposit return
- Cancel any renter's insurance after you've moved out
Final Steps
- Complete the Rent Check digital move-out inspection (We will send you a link prior to move out)
- Take photos/video of the property on your last day
- Return the property in the same condition as when you moved in (normal wear and tear excepted)
- Notify us of your move-out date at least 30 days in advance
